The Living Architecture Headspace @ Free Fringe Festival 2017

16/5/2017

Imagine a space where you can be yourself.
Then imagine having time to yourself to enjoy it!
Welcome to the Living Architecture HeadSpace where you can engage with space and time and uncover the mystery of who you are.

The brainchild of eco-architect and educator Peter Cowman, the Living Architecture HeadSpace is a scale model of a building which facilitates us in directly experiencing the power of space and time to unlock the potential of our lives.

Based on a design that was revealed to Peter in a dream, the HeadSpace echoes ancient theories about how architecture can function as an incubator for the future by providing an ideal context for the living of the lives we were born to live.

With its potent concoction of reality, dream and possibility, the HeadSpace challenges us to redefine ourselves by examining how our dwelling places influence the identity we project onto the world and by inviting us to reimagine ourselves in a form closer to the truth of who we really are inside.
Practical, lighthearted, inspiring and challenging, the HeadSpace pushes open the doors of perception, offering tantalising insight into how best we can shape the future we are destined to create.

Peter and the Living Architecture HeadSpace will be on-site during the entire Free Fringe Festival 21st - 23rd July.
Come along, pop your head inside and prepare to be amazed!

Apart from the HeadSpace experience, Peter will also be talking about low-cost, low-impact eco-buildings which can be constructed without the need to obtain planning permission - plus lots more!

The Fire Monkeys all hail from the midlands of Ireland, bought together through a common love of performance.  Having decided that Fire Performing is a hobby that they were individually keen to undertake and master, they have honed their skills as a group since forming in 2014.  They have raised the temperature at many events over the last three years such as private events, Electric Picnic, The Secret Village, Konckanstockan and pervious Free Fringe Festivals. They have become regulars on the Irish festivals circuit and are known to deliver a captivating and bewitching performance for all age groups.

Catch them at Free Fringe Festival 2017 when they join us on Sunday 23rd July, you won’t regret it.. They are flaming brilliant!!

Paul Stilgrove - Mayo Bushcraft
As the new home of the Free Fringe Festival, Drumcoura City opens up an oppertunity for us to introduce some alternative attractions and activities that we have never before been able to do.

One such activity is Bushcrafting, which will take place in our beautiful on site woodlands. Joining us this July 21st - 23rd is Paul Stilgrove (a bushcrafts fanatic) along with members of the Mayo Bushcraft Facebook Group.

We spoke to Paul about his love of bushcrafting and about what he and his team have in store for visitors of the Free Fringe Festival. Here's what he had to say...

"I started the facebook group Mayo Bushcraft to meet like minded people who enjoy the outdoor life" Paul told us. "I have been on a number of bushcraft courses with mactirebushcraft.com were I was taught the basics which aids me in my adventures."

"We will be demonstrating some bushcraft skills on site at the Free Fringe Festival and we'll try to answer any questions vistors may have about bushcrafting. Our team will have a few set ups on display including a tent,
tarp and canoe shelters. We'll also be knocking up pot hangers, spoons and cooking on the fire."

Pop along and say Hi to Paul and the Mayo Bushcraft crew and maybe learn a thing or two. It may even be the beginning of your new hobby!
